Principal’s Message

Dear parents, students, and community members,

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year! I am delighted and honored to serve as the new principal of Los Alisos Middle School. It is my goal as your new principal to continue our academic success by continuing to put our students first and guiding our school community to greater levels of fostering equity and access to meet the diverse needs of all students.

My goal and commitment is to provide an effective collaborative leadership with result-oriented approach focused on our common goals that include student success and providing a safe, positive, collaborative learning environment that will empower students to become creative problem solvers, critical thinkers, and inspired learners.

The dedicated staff at Los Alisos Middle School collaborate as a Professional Learning Community to ensure the academic success of every child. We continue to devote our efforts to increase student learning, to offer relevant courses, and to provide an educational experience that leads to college and career readiness.

Our Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) Magnet Program provides students with opportunities to enhance their 21st century skills. Critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity and innovation are embedded in our rigorous and relevant curriculum.

Our AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Program builds a culture of college readiness for all students across the campus. In the AVID Elective class, students receive daily instruction and support to prepare them for high school and college from a trained AVID Elective teacher. AVID impacts students school-wide as academic strategies such as writing to learn, inquiry, collaboration, organizational skills, and critical reading (WICOR) are taught in all classes across grade levels.

The success of our school will not be possible without the ongoing work of our teachers, as well as support from parents and community. Our partnership is essential for our continued success. At Los Alisos we embrace parent and community involvement. Please visit our school, get involved with our committees, see our programs, and enjoy the good things our students are doing. We need your support and participation to continue to offer the best educational environment at Los Alisos Middle school.
