2nd Cup of Coffee
Mrs. Hallstrom, principal, invites parents for a 2nd Cup of Coffee on a monthly basis in the library. The purpose of this meeting is to provide parents with information to encourage involvement in their child's education and at Los Alisos. For the past two years, the 2nd Cup of Coffee has grown in numbers beginning with 7 members and currently an average attendance of 40 parents.
The format of the 2nd cup of Coffee varies depending on the need of the parents. For example, for the last 2nd Cup of Coffee on January 26, parents spent time visiting classrooms, followed by the opportunity to share their observations and to ask questions. Additionally, parents had the opportunity to give their input and ideas on how we can continue to involve parents and make them feel welcome at Los Alisos Middle School.
